SMILE CONFIDENTLY AGAIN
IS TEETH WHITENING FOR EVERYONE?
Yes and no. While everyone wants a brighter smile the results you achieve depend on many factors;
Your Enamel Quality; most people have good to decent enamel quality and are able to proceed with teeth whitening achieving great results. If you have no enamel and only Dentin Bone this procedure is not for you. Dentin Bone unfortunately does not whiten.
Veneers, Crowns, Caps, Artificial Teeth, Porcelain, Composite; If you have any of these, this is totally fine! Please just know that they do not whiten past their original baseline color.
Fluoride Stains (Fluorosis); Fluoride stains aren't usually a big deal. It can have the appearance of chalky-white patches or streaks running down the surface of a tooth. In mild cases, teeth whitening may help blend and minimize the appearance of fluoride stains. In severe cases and brown Fluorosis, it is best that you go to your dentist instead.
Gum Diseases (Gingivitis & Periodontitis); if you have severely swollen, red inflamed gums please seek treatment from your dentist first before proceeding.
Dead Teeth; when the pulp is dead or injured, the tooth will darken because of the rotting material inside. A dead tooth will not whiten.
Tetracycline Stains; A medicine known for causing tooth discoloration is the antibiotic Tetracycline, Minocycline, and Doxycycline. If your teeth have been discolored blue-gray or yellow-brown due to these medications, it is reversible with time and work. These stains can be stubborn and treatment times can take two to six months. For severe untreatable cases, it is best to see your dentist.
